The Vokey Design WedgeWorks Proto is a tour-issue prototype wedge hand-crafted at Titleist's WedgeWorks facility in Carlsbad. One of the most popular wedge models on the PGA Tour with 13+ pros carrying it, it features tour-specific grinds and Spin Milled grooves validated at the highest level.
Born from Bob Vokey's direct work with PGA Tour players, the WedgeWorks Proto features hand-ground sole modifications and custom grinds not available in the standard SM line. The #4 most played wedge model on the PGA Tour.
Individually cut TX9 grooves differ based on loft, with micro-texture between grooves creating added friction. Heat-treated for double the groove durability of standard wedges. Spin rates reach 6,750+ RPM on 50-yard pitches.
Vertical center of gravity changes through the loft range — lower CG in lower lofts for controlled flight, higher CG in lob wedges for more versatility around the green. Each loft is independently optimized.
Available in raw finish that rusts over time, increasing surface friction for even more spin. The oxidation process also reduces glare at address in bright conditions, preferred by many tour players.
