About TK Kim
T.K. Kim is an American professional golfer with a distinctive path to the game. Born on April 5, 1991, in Seoul, South Korea, he moved to Maui to live with his aunt before being adopted at age 15 and settling in Boise, Idaho. He has cited his early exposure to professional golf in Hawaii—where he volunteered as a standard bearer at the Sentry Tournament of Champions from the age of 11—as part of his introduction to the sport.
Kim played four collegiate seasons at Boise State University from 2009 to 2013. As a senior he recorded 11 top-25 finishes, a total that ranks among the best in program history, and earned All-Mountain West Conference recognition in 2013. He turned professional in 2014 and has competed largely on the developmental circuits, including the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Americas.
Kim qualified for the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club by coming through the U.S. Golf Association's final qualifying, earning one of the spots available at the Dallas Athletic Club site in Texas. The appearance places him in a 156-player field at one of the championship's most demanding venues, and represents a major-championship start for a player who has spent most of his career outside the PGA Tour's top tier.
