About Fat Perez

Nick Stubbe grew up in the Richmond, Virginia area and played two seasons of Division III golf at Hampden-Sydney College before finishing an accounting degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. He worked in public and commercial real estate accounting until 2022, when he left to join Bob Does Sports full time; his first official video appeared in March of that year and introduced his Euro-step birdie celebration. The nickname dates from a club match near Richmond, when a friend compared his long hair and hot streak to Pat Perez and the opponent he was beating muttered the less flattering version. He plays to a plus handicap, has finished 13th and fifth in two Creator Classics, twice tried to qualify for a PGA Tour event through The Q at Myrtle Beach, and in January 2026 moved into Takomo irons and wedges while keeping Callaway woods.

He played the 2025 Internet Invitational for Team Bob, which was eliminated on Day 1. In 2026 he was drafted 20th overall by Team Ruffels and partnered Big John on Day 1: a 1-up win over Luke Kwon and Jason Williams in the morning scramble, then a 2&1 alternate-shot loss to Kwon and Malosi Togisala. Team Ruffels tied Team Finch 8–8 and won the sudden-death playoff, so he is through to Day 2.
